Fir Square Evaluation

a student evaluation of the Fir Square Interprofessional Student Doula Support Program to evaluate medical, midwifery and nursing students’ attitudes to interprofessional education and marginalized women at the beginning of the term and at the end. Evaluation of this program will provide insight into whether students have an improved attitude toward interprofessional learning after completion of the program, as well as an improved attitude towards the care of marginalized women.

Publications

CMNH members Lee Saxell, Lehe Elarar and Dr. Sue Harris (deceased) co-authored a   paper entitled “The Collaboration for Maternal and Newborn Health: Interprofessional Maternity Care Education for Medical, Midwifery and Nursing Students”. This paper was published in a highly regarded peer-reviewed journal: the Journal of Midwifery and Women’s Health www.jmwh.org (vol. 54 no. 4 July/Aug 2009).  This paper examines the impact on students of interprofessional learning experiences provided by the CMNH.  click here for article
